Here is a fun idea. We did an egg white mudslide made with a few ingredients you wouldn't normally see. The egg white foam is something I like to do with a lot of drinks as it adds a layer of depth and texture. Popular drinks for an egg white include Pisco/Sour, Whiskey/Sour, a Cable Car or Side Car but you can essentially add it to any drink you feel could use a little panache. Egg whites don't have much flavor for those of you worried about any type of smell or taste. I have watched videos, talked to dozens of bartenders and never have I heard about salmonella poisoning from the raw egg. I think the fruit juice acid and alcohol take care of that.
To make this drink requires a little more time an effort but it is well worth it. A traditional Mudslide is Vodka, Irish Cream and Kahlua. I used regular vodka, but added pumpkin flavored Kahlua (readily available) and I made my own Irish Cream. After adding a 3/4 shot of each to a mixing tin I then had to create the egg white foam which is basically an emulsion where air is suspended in the egg whites. To do this you do a dry shake in another mixing tin to break down the protein and pack as much air into the cocktail. Then you add the 3 liquors and ice and shake vigorously. After shaking you want to use a fine strainer to make sure you don't have any chunks of ice or possible egg shell.
This week we will be doing 4 mixology classes. One for a bachelorette party, one for a 40th birthday party, one for a small company's employees and finally we did one last night for a small apartment complex. Their residents came down for a happy hour that was a lot greater than expected. We did a pop up mixology class and they learned how to make five different drinks in a two hour period. Two of the cocktails were classics and of the five cocktails, they all were tied together including two with champagne, three with fresh squeezed juices and to start things off right we did three drinks that were summer drinks. These first three were all light and refreshing and not overwhelming from a booze standpoint. Below are a couple pictures of the event. This event was for @inmanquarter #inmanquarter apartment complex.
Does your attire really matter? Not if you aren't trying to impress anyone. Certainly going to the dog park offers a lot of flexibility in correct attire. But if you are meeting the boss, your girlfriend's parents or a new potential client, you want to be wearing the right attire. The same goes for glassware selection for drinks.
For years now we have all recognized the generic margarita glass that looks like a large wine glass was sat on by Santa Clause. Certainly we all recognize the pint glass and a rocks glass but there are so many other new glass types making their way onto our tables at the restaurant and into our homes. A Moscow Mule that comes in a rocks glass ain't cool Man....literally the classic copper mug will keep your drink colder. All images are from webstaurantstore, wineponder or foodservicewarehouse websites.
Many of our clients want to do something special for their house party. Offering a signature drink like a Moscow Mule can be a great want to really enhance any event. We can help you come up with a drink that fits your guests!
Place in blender and voila!

This weekend we bartended several events for a large variety of clients in as many different event locations. We did mixology events, wine tastings, open houses events and this is a regular weekend. Mobile Cocktails ATL can make sure to help you plan your event ensuring it is safe, unique and a huge success. Not only that we have enough people working for us that we can not only provide you a particular look or background but also have the capacity to cover a shift should someone call in sick. We even handled a last minute day of request from a brand new client. To us service is a passion and something we try to excel in at the point of sale...ie handing over a perfectly made cocktail, but also in everything leading up to that and afterwards. We take out the trash, organize and clean up afterwards, pick up plates and napkins, deliver alcohol from time to time and certainly help plan the entire event from the beverage standpoint. A beverage service should can either pour drinks or be a one stop shop for everything beverages ...and more. We choose -and more!
We are infusing several different alcohol batches for some of our customers. NO we don't sell alcohol despite the name of my company but we do doctor a few bottles from time to time. I have been asked to create a few for some of my clients and their upcoming Cinco de Mayo events as well as the Kentucky Derby.
My name is Derek Behning, I want to pour a beer or cocktail for every person in Atlanta. I have been in love with the hospitality industry since I was 16 in every regard.
